Lynx Creek Hot Spring & Lakes -- 2008
(or the 'elusive' Lynx Creek HS as some have called it)

A late-season wild hair found us hiking to this HS that I have wanted to get back to ever since
I was here in 2005. I am afraid that the hot spring is sort of ho-hum in spite of the very
good temperature (about 140 degrees) coming out of the mountain. The pools are well-stocked
with algae and getting imersed is only a pipe dream. Having to cross the river every time
you want a hot soak is not a real plus. However the lakes above at the head of Lynx
creek are spectacular and make the trip worthwhile. In reality there area several more lakes
nearby in other drainages that could be easily accessed from the lakes we did get to.
