A Marriage in the Philippines
August 2019, my wife of 20 years exercised her option to leave our home. My choice at the time was to resign myself to the single life. Which I did for about 3 years. However at some point, I began to feel the yearnings for a companion. I elected to cruise the dating sites, first in the USA, then in other countries. My USA attempts produced absolutely nothing. Since I was getting constant ads for women in the Ukraine and Russia, I ventured there next. But the one thing I gained from my presence on their websites, was that what they were advertising, essential sensual options, was not what I had in mind, so I bailed from their sites rather quickly.
What to do now. From somewhere, a still small voice suggested, “Why don't you try the Asian sites,” which I immediately did, and the rest, as they say, is history.
I eventually focused on the site presented by a Lourdes Russel B Dal, a woman from Tagum City, Mindanao, the Philippines. We very quickly began to communicate via WhatsApp, and eventually ended up chatting 6 hours a day, 3 in the morning and 3 in the evening for a little over 3 months, whereupon I married the lady, and have taken up temporary residence in her place in the Philippines until I am able to gain her admission to the USA.
This woman is older than a lot of ladies you are exposed to and therefore her desires extend past the usual give me a Visa and send me money that I encountered with many that I crossed paths with on the Asian dating site.
I contracted with Boundless, Inc., to put together the documentation that USCIS was interested in seeing as a petition for Green Card/Spousal Visa. It was an impressive folder of documents and should have pleased the USCIS folks as it is everything that they would have asked for had I dealt with them directly.
However, it has been very close to 1 year since I initially sent my folder to them on May 24 , 2023,
and have heard nothing in return other than the initial text message and standard form.
I am not a young man, and my life is on hold while I am treading water waiting for permission to bring the woman to my home in New Mexico. I see nothing to be gained by this extensive wait, as we have lived together (in marriage) and are still as interested in each other as we were in the beginning.
I would be ever-so-grateful for any help I could receive that would move this along and allow us to be together without the hemorrhage of money that is occurring while I have to come home to do business and care for my property in Glenwood, New Mexico, and then return to the Philippines to be with my chosen partner.
