Upon our arrival in 2021 (my sister & I), things were pretty stark and somewhat bleak. It was apparent that lots of work was going to be needed.

This was much later, 2024 or so. I had let these 'volunteer' trees grow in order to cover up the collection of very un-scenic things across the large lot to the east. At this point in 2026 they have completely filled in the gaps you see here, and this year I took a bit of height out of the tops of the trees in order to let the beautiful Gila Wilderness mountains show through and provide the stellar view that is available now.

This is a tool/work shed with that little cramped rude goldberg attempt at a animal shelter at the end of the work shed, definitely not suitable as a home for all 4 goats

The goat shed is in progress, and as time went on, I passed my two best goats on to a hiking friend, and only Coffee Bean & Mocha had to bed down there.

Back before the trees blocked the containers, dead trailers, crashed buildings, etc.

The now crashed building gave plenty of clear indicators that it was on its way to never-never land, but those that could have fixed it, were clearly living in mañana-land.

This is the other of the 3 buildings on this lot. It is a MIL house with plenty of size for a single occupant.

One of the three steel buildings on this 1.7 acre lot. The foundation here is giving signs of eminent collapse, so I need to exit mañana-land myself, and built up its sagging supports.

This is now the only space in the fence where one can see through to the untidy neighbors. The trees have filled it in so only a small opening still exists.

What the back of the house looked like in the beginning. It is much improved now, and the grey-water drain (black pipe) on the left-hand side of this picture has now been relocated underground.

It appears that we were having a small rain shower when I took this picture.

This is the lower yard, the part of the 1.7 acres that doesn't have any buildings (except for one of the metal sheds) on it. It is the way you can back the truck down for clean-up, etc. It is far more orderly now.

The east end of the lower part of the yard, the part with the well pump house on it. The roof has now been replaced by the resident gardener/carpenter/mechanic.

The middle of the lower yard. All parts were equally messy. In the far part of the middle of this picture, some attempt had been made to set up another garden. Same issue here as well, too much tree cover, and bloody little care.
